William L. Kabaker
William L. Kabaker is of counsel to the firm. He has extensive experience in banking litigation, commercial litigation, real estate taxation, bankruptcy litigation, and mechanics' lien and mortgage foreclosures. A significant portion of his practice is the handling of residential real estate sales and purchases.
William has extensive experience working with banking institutions in regard to loan workouts, including foreclosures, receiverships, replevins and bankruptcy proceedings (including motions for relief from stay and adversary proceedings and actions for preferences and fraudulent conveyances). His practice also includes commercial litigation (primarily related to lending and contract disputes) and commercial transactions (including asset sales, UCC sales, liquidations and related matters, especially involving distressed businesses). He also handles substantial real estate tax reduction matters on behalf of primarily corporate clients before the Cook County Assessor and the Cook County Board of Review as well as other counties (DuPage, Kane, Will and Lake). This real estate reduction work primarily falls in the following categories:
- Commercial properties include: office buildings, shopping centers and motels.
- Industrial properties include: owner occupied and/or triple net leased business facilities, factories etc.
- Multiple unit apartment complexes or buildings.
